  • 1st Block

    Now thru March 15th:

    You will be assigned seeding numbers, in a random order draw after March 15th.

  • 2nd Block

    March 16th – May 31st:

    You will be assigned seeding numbers, in a random order draw after May 31st.

  • 3rd Block

    Seeding numbers will be assigned and posted as they are received by postmark/paid dates (no random order).

  • Registration ENDS

    Midnight on October 15th :

    Remember: Any bands who have registered, but have not claimed their class size must declare their class size by Sept. 1st

Championships & Seeding

FMBC Seeding process is based on Registration Payment date, either by PayPal or Credit Card payment, or postmark date of check.

1st Block

Now Thru March 15th:

March 16th – May 31st:

You will be assigned seeding numbers, in a random order draw after May 31st.

3rd Block

Seeding numbers will be assigned and posted as they are received by postmark/paid dates (no random order).

For FMBC State Prelims, each class is then arranged in performance order, chronologically in reverse order of their ‘seeding” numbers, with the smallest number performing last, in each class. 

Scholarship Criteria for The FMBC Scholarship Fund

The FMBC Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to college-bound high school seniors based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, school band or auxiliary involvement, and an express interest in pursuing music and/or performance education, through college and/or through performance entities such as Drum Corps International.

The students eligible for assistance must be graduating high school seniors who reside in Florida and are members of a band that is registered for and attends the FMBC State Semi-Finals.

Deadline for Submission, October 15th 2023

NO later than midnight. Late entries will NOT be accepted.

2022 FMBC Scholarship Application ( 2023 link coming soon)

  1. You must be a graduating Senior of the Class of 2024.
  2. You must be a member of a band that is participating in the 2023 FMBC Prelims.
  3. You will need to provide 2 letters of recommendation: one from your current band director, and one from another teacher at your school.
  4. Complete application (link above) and submit the letters of recommendation to: cathy@fmbcstate.com

Directors will be notified if your student(s) are chosen to receive an award. They will be asked to come forward during your Prelims retreat ceremony to accept their award.
