Scholarship Criteria for The FMBC Scholarship Fund

The FMBC Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to college-bound high school seniors based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, school band or auxiliary involvement, and an express interest in pursuing music and/or performance education, through college and/or through performance entities such as Drum Corps International.

The students eligible for assistance must be graduating high school seniors who reside in Florida and are members of a band that is registered for and attends the FMBC State Semi-Finals.

The student intends to continue their education at a four-year college or university. Consideration will be given to academic achievement, financial need and the student’s involvement and commitment to their high school’s marching band.

Students should submit a scholarship application on the form that will be provided on the FMBC website by September 1st, 2017. The scholarship amounts awarded will be based on the funds available from sponsors and fundraisers.

The application deadline is October 1st. The deadline is the date after which applications will no longer be accepted. The FMBC Scholarship committee uses the postmarked date to determine mailed entries. This scholarship is not renewable and previous scholarship recipients cannot re-apply.
